Description
Matte PLA 3D Printing Filament
3D META’s Matte PLA 3D printing filament is produced with high-quality, polylactic acid (PLA) material, producing a filament that has exceptional bed and layer adhesion, does not warp or crack, has excellent dimensional stability and is manufactured under strict QA standards. 3D META’s Matte PLA filament is biodegradable and comes on recyclable plastic spools. Give your prints a stunning matte finish with our easy-to-print, consistent, reliable, high-quality PLA filament.
Key Features of Matte PLA 3D Printing Filament:
- Manufactured with high-quality materials: All raw ingredients used to produce our Matte filament are of the highest quality.
- Stunning matte colour finish: Producing prints with a sophisticated, non-glossy, smooth finish.
- Exceptional bed and layer adhesion: Experience excellent bed adhesion and inter-layer bonding, which minimizes the risk of warping or cracking during the printing process.
- No warping or cracking: Say goodbye to failed prints caused by temperature fluctuations. PLA+ is known for its dimensional stability and resistance to warping.
-
100% Biodegradable: PLA+ is an environmentally friendly choice that’s biodegradable, allowing you to create with a smaller environmental footprint.
- Manufactured under strict QA procedures: Each spool of PLA+ is manufactured under strict quality assurance standards, ensuring consistency, reliability, and exceptional performance.
-
Consistent, reliable, and easy to print with filament: Enjoy hassle-free printing with a filament that feeds smoothly, sticks firmly to the print bed, and produces high-quality results every time.
Applications for Matte PLA 3D Printing Filament:
Matte PLA filament is a versatile and user-friendly material, making it an excellent choice for a wide range of 3D printing projects. Whether you’re a beginner looking to start with a high-quality filament or an experienced 3D printer seeking a professional finish, Matte PLA provides the aesthetic appeal and print quality needed for various applications:
Decorative and Ornamental Pieces: The non-reflective, smooth finish of Matte PLA makes it ideal for decorative models, art pieces, and figurines. Its unique matte surface reduces light reflections, giving prints a refined, elegant appearance that’s perfect for display.
Prototyping and Product Design: Designers and engineers often prefer Matte PLA filament for prototyping because it highlights the intricate details of their designs without the gloss that can obscure features. It’s easy to work with, allowing for fast and reliable iterations during the design process.
Architectural Models: The flat, non-glossy finish of Matte PLA makes it a popular choice for architectural models and mockups. It provides a realistic, professional look, especially when replicating concrete, stone, or other building materials.
Educational Models and Tools: Matte PLA’s ease of printing and visual appeal make it great for educational purposes, such as creating anatomical models, scientific replicas, or teaching aids. Its subtle finish enhances visibility of details, aiding in learning and presentation.
Functional Parts: While Matte PLA is not as strong as PLA+, it still offers good durability for functional parts that don’t require high-impact resistance. It’s suitable for low-stress applications like custom tools, jigs, and fixtures where a refined appearance is desired.
Cosplay and Props: Matte PLA is also popular in the cosplay community for creating props and accessories that need a realistic, non-plastic look. Its easy post-processing capabilities allow for sanding and painting, making it a versatile material for achieving specific textures and effects.
While Matte PLA filament is excellent for many indoor projects, it has similar UV resistance limitations as other PLA types, making it less suitable for outdoor use where exposure to sunlight could lead to fading or degradation over time. For outdoor applications, consider using more UV-resistant materials like PETG or ASA to ensure longevity and performance under varying weather conditions.
Storage and Drying for Matte PLA 3D Printing Filament:
Proper storage of your Matte PLA filament is crucial to maintaining its quality and performance. Matte PLA filament is hygroscopic, meaning it absorbs moisture from the air, which can negatively affect print quality. To keep your Matte PLA filament in optimal condition:
- Store in a Cool, Dark, and Dry Place: Keep your filament in an airtight container or resealable bag with desiccants to prevent moisture absorption.
- Drying Methods: If your filament has absorbed moisture, you can dry it using a dedicated filament dryer, a food dehydrator, a kitchen oven, or even your 3D printer if it’s fully enclosed. For PLA and PLA+ filaments, we recommend drying at a temperature of 40℃ - 45℃ for a minimum of 4 – 6 hours.
