The Bambu Lab AMS 2 Pro is the second-generation four-spool Automatic Material System. It keeps the multi-colour and multi-material printing of the original AMS and adds what owners asked for most: active filament drying up to 65 °C, airtight storage, and a brushless PMSM feeding motor that changes filament 60% faster – saving around ten minutes for every hundred colour changes. Load four spools, let RFID identify Bambu filament automatically, and print.

Compatibility

  • P2S, X2D, H2 Series: connect directly. The printer can power drying for one AMS 2 Pro (on the P2S, while idle); add a Switching Adapter to dry more than one unit or dry during printing.
  • P1 / X1 Series: connect directly for printing; a Switching Adapter (24 V 4 A, sold separately) is required to use filament drying.
  • A1 / A1 Mini: requires the AMS Hub – A1 Series (SA013).
  • Up to 4 AMS units per printer via the AMS Hub (P1/X1) or 4-in-1 PTFE Adapter (P2S/X2D/H2).

FAQ

AMS 2 Pro or AMS HT?
The AMS 2 Pro holds four spools and dries at 65 °C – the everyday choice for PLA, PETG and ABS. The AMS HT holds one spool, dries at 85 °C and has a bypass outlet for TPU and CF filaments.

Can it dry filament on its own?
No. It must be connected to a powered-on printer; drying power comes from the printer or a Switching Adapter.

Does it work with the original AMS Hub?
Yes on P1 and X1 Series. The AMS Hub is not compatible with the P2S or X2D.
