3D META’s Carbon Fiber ASA 3D printing filament is produced with high quality, acrylonitrile styrene acrylate (ASA) engineering plastic blended with 10% carbon fiber. Our ASA carbon fiber 3d printing material filament is tough, has high impact resistance and is very rigid. It is also temperature and weather resistant and has antistatic properties. Our carbon fiber ASA filament is suitable for most 3D printers.

Because this is a carbon fiber blended filament it is more prone to moisture absorption, please read ‘Storage and Drying’ tips below. We do also recommend drying the model after printing to increase its strength and remove all moisture. Simply place the printed model in a dryer at 80℃ - 100℃ for 1-3 hours, if using the carbon fiber ASA filament as its own supports, remove the support material once the part has cooled but before drying. Support structures will become harder to remove after drying.

Carbon Fiber blended filament can be very harsh on nozzles, we recommend using hardened steel or stronger nozzles. Brass can be used but may require regular changing. Any nozzles smaller than 0.4mm can also be prone to blocking with carbon fiber filament, this is due to the small pieces of carbon fiber clogging the tip of the nozzle.

Due to its overall strength and high impact resistance, rigidity, temperature and weather resistance and antistatic properties, Carbon fiber ASA can be used for a range of engineering applications. It’s most commonly used for prototyping or function parts that require high strength, impact resistance, or need to withstand certain temperature and weather conditions.

Storage and Drying:

To prevent moisture absorption, it is recommended to keep your filament in a cool, dark, dry area, preferable sealed in an airtight bag.

Filament can be dried with various methods including a dedicated filament drying machine, food dehydrator, oven, or even your printer if it’s fully enclosed. For ABS and ABS+ filaments we recommend a drying temperature of 80℃ for a minimum of 5 hours.
